  • Designed and implemented lesson plans following the philosophy of emergent curriculum and IEP goals

  • Participated in the class evaluation process and Kids Count screenings: DIAL 4, AEPS, IEP development, observations

  • Followed developmentally appropriate practice when designing class learning activities and centers

  • Demonstrated use of technology during instruction to enhance the curriculum and increase student engagement

  • Incorporated a variety of strategies including visual schedules, token reinforcement systems, and the Premack principle to promote positive behavior

  • Designed and implemented a 2.5 week thematic unit on insects and butterflies following the Olathe District standards and curriculum

Student Teaching Experience

 

I completed my student teaching experience within the Olathe School District. Since my degree is in Early Childhood Unified, I spent eight weeks in a third grade classroom and eight weeks in an early childhood special education classroom.
